Creative Technician Volunteer

What You'll Do: 

The Hub from Greener and Cleaner is looking for volunteer Creative Technicians to make items from reclaimed materials to sell in The Hub, helping us highlight the need to care about where we live and the impact of our lifestyles. Creative Technicians will help to encourage a creative, upcycle, and mend culture to reduce waste. We are especially interested in anyone with the following skills:

  • Artistic, creative, or crafting skills
  • Able to think beyond throwaway culture
  • Able to reuse and repurpose materials to create something new

 

You’ll be pivotal in making items to sell by upcycling, recycling, reusing, and repurposing materials to create items that can be sold in The Hub’s shop, which raises funds for the continuation of Greener and Cleaner.

You’ll be part of our pilot project which, if successful, will see versions of The Hub rolled out across the UK, providing a blueprint for others to be shared and upscaled.

 

Your role is central to helping highlight the need to care about where we live and the impact of our lifestyles. This is about shifting mindsets, moving away from a throwaway culture and building encouragement to move towards a creative, upcycle, and mend culture reducing waste.

What You'll Learn: 

Some knowledge of sewing, knitting, or crocheting and a willingness to learn new skills would be beneficial but not essential to this role.
