Volunteer Radio Presenter - Afghan Community Radio Station

What You'll Do: 

Afghan Radio Station plans to provide music, entertainment, and companionship to the Afghan community. We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Radio Presenters to host shows on weekdays and weekends. This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for broadcasting with making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Success in this role means delivering engaging, uplifting, and professional shows that connect with our listeners, represent the station’s values, and help grow our audience both on-air and via our social media channels.

As part of our volunteer presenter team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our community connected and enhancing the experience for those we serve.

Responsibilities

  • Host live or pre-recorded shows, delivering engaging content that entertains and uplifts our audience.
  • Select and prepare music playlists that are suitable and enjoyable for a diverse audience.
  • Conduct interviews, share local stories, and engage listeners with relevant, positive content.
  • Collaborate with fellow presenters, producers, and volunteers to maintain a consistent, professional sound.
  • Promote your show and the station across social media and local networks to grow listenership.
  • Adhere to all station policies, broadcasting guidelines, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Represent Afghan Radio Station within the wider community.

What We're Looking For: 
  • Passion for music and broadcasting – experience in presenting is welcome but not essential (training provided).
  • Confident and friendly on-air presence with excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality – commitment to your agreed show times is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to broadcasting procedures and technical equipment.
