Advice Assistant Volunteer - Citizens Advice Southwark

What You'll Do: 

Advice Assistant Volunteers work with our Operations Team and Advice Teams to provide administrative support for the delivery of our services to clients.      

 

This role will include an introduction to Citizens Advice Southwark and training for your role. The range of tasks may include:

  • maintaining client records and inputting data.
  • assisting with the reception service when people visit the service.
  • handling correspondence and other documents
  • handling phone calls and taking messages
  • completing satisfaction surveys with clients
  • working with the Advice Team to help clients with specific tasks, such as completing an application form or finding required information online
  • contributing to our research and campaigns work by identifying issues that affect a lot of clients

What We're Looking For: 

You don’t need specific qualifications but you’ll need to:

  • be friendly and approachable
  • be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
  • have good verbal and written communication skills
  • have good listening skills
  • have good IT skills
  • be able to understand information and explain it to others
  • work in a team and be organised
  • be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
  • be willing to undertake training in your role
