With another volunteer, or member of Art Explora staff, you will select one of our simple creative activities and facilitate a session for early years children and their families in a library. Sessions take place either after a Story n Rhyme session or a Stay n Play session.
You will feel more connected to your local community, meet people of different ages and from different walks of life and help to bring joy to families with young children. You will also be offered spaces on trips to galleries and theatres with our care setting residents as part of our ‘Art Explorers at...’ project. Additionally, as an Art Explora volunteer, you will also be invited to social events and training sessions we organise throughout the year. Travel expenses can be reimbursed and we are happy to provide references if you have attended several sessions.
You will develop communication and public speaking skills and gain experience working with young children. You will learn how to deliver creative workshops, and have a great understanding of how art can support a sense of community and wellbeing.
We are looking for friendly team players with strong communication skills and an interest in artmaking. The ideal candidates are comfortable talking to people of all ages and eager to make a difference in their local community.
