Volunteer Property Researcher – Data Collection Manager

What You'll Do:

Children with Voices is a Hackney-based charity and food hub dedicated to creating safe, inspiring spaces for children and families in our community. We are looking for a passionate individual with local knowledge to help us find a space where we can continue to grow and support our mission. Your research and expertise will help create a welcoming, child-friendly environment where our programs can thrive and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities:

Finding the Right Property

- Research potential properties in Hackney that fit our needs in terms of size, location, and accessibility.

- Make lists of available spaces, including community centres, churches, or ESG-focused buildings that might support our mission.

- Prepare letters requesting the use of vacant buildings or funding to rent a property.

Evaluating Spaces:

- Visit properties to check if they meet our standards for a safe, welcoming environment.

- Compare each property against our needs, including rent costs, layout, and potential for a long-term stay.

- Look over rental agreements to ensure they meet our charity’s needs.

Financial Planning and Reporting:

- Review and manage costs for renting or renovating each property to make sure they fit within our budget.

- Provide clear reports that explain each property’s costs and long-term value.

Working with Our Team:

- Work closely with our team and other partners to gather feedback on property requirements.

- Keep everyone updated on progress, challenges, and options.

Why You'll Love It:

As a valued member of our team, you'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

- Travel Expenses Paid: We understand that getting to and from our office can sometimes be a challenge, which is why we offer reimbursement for travel expenses. Whether you're driving, taking public transportation, or biking to our site, we'll make sure you're compensated for your time and effort.

- Opportunities for Personal Growth: We believe in investing in our volunteers and helping them grow and develop both personally and professionally. That's why we offer opportunities for ongoing training and development, helping you enhance your coordination skills and become an even more effective project coordinator.

If you're organised, proactive, and ready to make a positive impact in your community, then we want you on our team! Join us at Children with Voices and help us turn ideas into action, one project at a time.
