Live Music Event Steward Volunteer

What You'll Do: 

Working under the supervision of Grand Junction staff, Event Steward volunteers will:

          • Offer guests a warm welcome to Grand Junction, check event tickets, and signpost visitors around the venue
          • Enrich visitor experience by answering information queries about the event, or the venue
          • Help to ensure that guests have a safe and enjoyable visit to our community space by monitoring health and safety considerations, including supervising fire exits and inspecting visitor facilities
          • Occasionally help to prepare the venue ahead of an event, including but not limited to, arranging chairs and furniture, setting-up technical equipment, arranging staging, and stocking refreshments
          • Occasionally assist the staff by collecting empty glassware and tableware after use
          • Occasionally help to set down after an event, including but not limited to, stacking and tidying away equipment, moving furniture, and clearing and cleaning the event area

What You'll Learn:

          • Receive ongoing training, including a detailed volunteer induction and training specific to the role
          • Receive reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, in accordance with the PDT Volunteer Policy
          • Receive ongoing support from Grand Junction’s Volunteer Manager, and other Grand Junction staff
          • Be supported to use their volunteering to access employment-focused opportunities, such as advice and signposting, where relevant
          • Be invited to regular volunteer social gatherings, community events, and talks
