Sir John Soane's Museum
The Museum today aspires to encourage access to Soane’s legacy in its broadest sense: architecture, design and creative originality, collections and a commitment to learning and enquiry, and the connections between past and present that the Museum reveals.
ABOUT US:

Sir John Soane, the son of a bricklayer, became one of the most celebrated architects of his day. When he died in 1837, he left the home that he designed to the public. Today the Museum fulfils his wish and presents his collection of art, sculptures, books and furniture as it was in 1837, so visitors can step back in time into his beautiful and unusual house.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

Sir John Soane’s Museum is one of the world’s greatest creations of and for the human imagination. It is a rare example of a true Gesamtkunstwerk – a total work of art - uniting architecture, sculpture, painting, design, and curation in a single poetic, educational setting. It is a tour de force: a great work of art designed to touch the soul and broaden the mind.
