About the organisation
We are a relatively young charity that supports a strong, caring and mutually-supportive community. We are staffed by a growing team managed by a board of trustees (comprising a balanced mix of those with personal experience of sarcoma and those that don’t), and supported by experts in the sarcoma field. Sarcoma UK was founded by Roger Wilson CBE, a sarcoma patient.
We’re bringing about change. Join us in doing that.
Every day 15 people are diagnosed with sarcoma cancer in the UK. But 75% of the public don't know what sarcoma is. We work to raise awareness of sarcoma, to help people spot the early signs and symptoms of the disease.
Sarcoma UK is one of the biggest funders of sarcoma research in the UK, having invested more than £6 million into 76 research projects to date. Through this research we can increase our understanding of the disease and find the treatments of the future.
The Sarcoma UK Support Line is here for every person affected by sarcoma, offering friendly, expert, confidential and free advice to those who need it most.
We are looking for kind and compassionate individuals who are keen to make a difference for those affected by bone and soft tissue cancer.
