Two Temple Place is a neo-gothic Victorian Mansion, built in 1895 by architect John Loughbourgh Pearson as the estate office of William Waldorf Astor. We are a charity and run a busy cultural programme of free open days, events and an annual exhibition. We work with emerging curators to showcase publically owned collections from around the UK through our exhibitions. Our 2024 exhibition The Glass Heart, Art Industry and Collaboration will explore the artistry and industry of glass in the UK. ringing together key regional collections, techniques and artists for the first time, The Glass Heart will present more than 100 glass artworks spanning 170 years.
Our free exhibitions and community programme allow us to be accessible and provide opportunities for everyone to experience art and history. Our exhibitions provide an opportunity for research and conservation to be carried out on publically owned collections, and for more people to experience them.
We look to recruit volunteers who are:
• Friendly & polite
• Helpful & proactive
