Drinks Trolley Host

What You'll Do: 

The Drinks Trolley visits our wards twice a day to offer our patients free alcoholic & soft refreshments.  It is a much loved service, run entirely by volunteers, who serve a choice of cold drinks and stop for a chat with patients, their families and friends.

This is an unusual role and one that enables you to meet the patients in aparticularly pleasant way.  People are generally very pleased to see you!

 

Reimbursement of travel expenses up to zones 1-6 (at oyster card rates).

What You'll Learn: 

•             Support the work of St Joseph’s Hospice.

•             Gain experience of working with patients with palliative care needs.

•             Enjoy meeting visitors and members of the public that visit the hospice.

•             Gain experience of hospice setting and attend relevant training.

What We're Looking For: 

Skills and qualities required:

•             Able to work on own initiative with a can do attitude.

•             An active listener.

•             Able to confidently communicate with a wide range of people at various levels.

•             Have the ability to set limits with others and be aware of professional boundaries.

•             An enthusiastic and passionate interest in hospice and end of life care.

•             Dress code should be smart and presentable.

•             Reliability and punctuality for your shift.

 

We are looking to cover the following shifts:-

Monday,  PM shift

Alternative Sunday, AM shift

Alternative Sunday, PM shift
